You found us on a country road, a wee kitten with the whole wild against you, too small for the struggle, too stubborn to lose — and somehow you chose us. You moved in under the deck like you'd always lived there, and then one day you simply stayed. You didn't ask. You adopted us, as if we'd been your family all along and you were just waiting for us to catch on. Through the toughest times, you were there — a warm weight, a steady purr, a friend who never needed words to say *I'm here*. You taught us love without conditions, friendship without keeping score, and that the simplest things — a sunny spot, a full bowl, a hand to lean into — are the most important things there are. Now the road is shorter than we dreamed, and soon you'll walk the last of it without us. But you'll take a piece of our hearts with you, Star. Truth is, you were carrying the biggest part of them all along. You will be greatly missed. You are greatly loved. Forever.
"When he'd come up on my desk and curl up, keeping me company the whole afternoon. ~ Joanna His constant being there, saving me from the stress at work & following me around wherever I went. ~ Cheston"

As selfless and helpful as Star was - and he taught us everything we needed to know about that kind of love - I think it would bring him the greatest joy to see other animals being helped and loved, as he was.
